Roxanne Gay’s book Hunger is a story about her super morbidly obese body. She speaks about her body in the book as though it is a separate entity, yet intimately connected to her. She calls this body unruly, as though it will not cooperate with her, and as a result it brings her a lot of negative attention. So many people with body differences identify with her story. Her story reminds us all that we are more than our bodies.
